and, i have a new top track on youtube. my ridiculous 1996 version of "i did your mom" has overtaken my 1996 version of "boogeyman", passing by it with 961 views.

i have such a love-hate relationship with this stupid song. i explain it in more depth if you open the link to the youtube page. the short story is that it is not a song promoting misogyny, but a song exploring the misogyny i was dealing with as a teenager. but, i'm entirely cognizant that the subtlety is not apparent and i've been very apprehensive about promoting it.

it's now clear that this will be the first track to hit 1000 hits and it will likely stay in the top track position until boogeyman is placed back on the front page in mid-september, when it will probably (perhaps temporarily) regain the top spot. these two tracks will likely not face much competition for the top spot until the end of the promotional period for my second demo, which is not until december.

despite my apprehension about the track being misunderstood by precisely the kind of jerks i wrote it about, these are absolutely the two most substantial tracks on the first demo, so it is rather fitting.
